Under the Trump administration, this intensified further under the MAGA (Make America Great Again) doctrine, with even stronger nationalism and economic self-interest. The decentralized ethos of Web3 runs completely counter to this.

Just because American companies and financial institutions are jumping into Web3 doesn’t mean they embrace its ideals of freedom. I see it more like a gigantic pump-and-dump scheme: they keep buying until the price peaks, then slowly exit as the general public starts investing.
